At King Edward VI Northfield School for Girls, our aim in mathematics is to equip pupils with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive in the real world, while fostering a genuine love of the subject. We believe every pupil deserves a creative and ambitious curriculum that enables them to become fluent mathematicians who can reason, problem solve and make connections both within mathematics and across the wider curriculum. We promote a language-rich environment in which pupils feel confident to discuss, explore, and apply mathematics in a wide range of contexts.

Our curriculum is underpinned by the White Rose Maths mastery approach, which ensures that all pupils can succeed, regardless of starting point. From Year 7 through to Year 11, pupils experience a curriculum that is challenging, coherent, and accessible, fully aligned with the National Curriculum and designed to develop deep understanding over time.
