Remarkable Results in Key Subjects
Once more our English results reached phenomenal heights, with over 73% gaining Grade 4s (equivalent to C grades or better).  54% gained a higher grade (Grade 5 or above).  This represents seven consecutive years when our English results have been above the National and Birmingham averages.

The Sciences also saw some remarkable results with 83% of candidates achieving a higher grade.  In Maths 55% achieved the Grade 4s or better.  In Art (76% A*-C),  Graphics (73% A*-C), Textiles (80%), Dance (83%), Sport (100%), IMedia (84%), Health and Social Care (94%) and RE (92%) pupils received tremendous results.  This reflects the strength of our curriculum – where pupils are able to choose four options at Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) from a broad range of choices rather than a narrow choice.

Strong Progress in Key Subjects
Also noteworthy was the fact that in subjects such as History and Food, pupils made more than half a grade’s progress more than the national average (from their starting points at the end of Primary School).  In many subjects, this progress was more than a whole grade better than the their peers nationally.

Destinations
Whilst results are important, so is ensuring that our leavers manage to get onto their chosen courses after they leave us.  At the end of September, we have confirmed that all but one leaver has started their college courses.
