The Academy is registered with Operation Encompass
- One of the principles of Operation Encompass is that all incidents of domestic abuse are shared with schools, not just those where an offence can be identified.
- Every school appoints a trained Key Adult in the academy. This is Mr. Atkinson – the Key Adult is the person who receives information about police attended Domestic Abuse incidents and has completed training and will implement any support which is required for the pupil.
- Operation Encompass is an integral component in child safeguarding and protection policies.
Domestic abuse can include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Coercive control (a pattern of intimidation, degradation, isolation and control with the use or threat of physical or sexual violence)
- Psychological and/or emotional abuse.
- Physical or sexual abuse.
- Financial or economic abuse.
- Harassment and stalking.
- Online or digital abuse.
