2024 Results Headlines
The results for our Year 11 leavers in 2024 saw many individual successes as well some great results across particular subjects.
Particularly pleasing were the great results with the most academic subjects:
French 5+ reached 54.1 (up from 44.4% in 2023) and 4+ reached 75.7% (up from 58% in 2023).
Geography 5+ reached 47.6% (37.5% in 2023) and 4+ reached 64.3% (up from 60% in 2023).
History 5+ reached 55.1% (up from 47.3% in 2023) and 4+ reached 66.7% (up from 53.8% in 2023)
A number of more practical subjects also excelled:
Art 5+ reached 65.7% (up from 56.3% in 2023) and 4+ reached 80.0% (up from 71.9% in 2023)
Graphics 5+ reached 66.7% (up from 41.2% in 2023) and 4+ reached 93.3% (up from 88.2% in 2023)
Maths, English and the Sciences all improved:
English (5+ 51.4% up from 50.3% in 2023 and 4+ 70.3% up from 67.8% in 2023), Maths (5+ 44.6%, up from 38.3% in 2023, and 4+ 59.5% up 58.4% in 2023) and the Sciences (5+ 41.8%,up from 37.1% in 2023 and 4+ 55.3% up from 55.0% in 2023). As a consequence, our benchmarks for 4+ English and Maths, 5+ English and Maths, 4+ and 5+ 5 GCSEs including English and Maths all advanced from previous results.
Where we did not do so well in 2024:
Due to an unprecedented number of maternity absences last academic year, despite strenuous efforts, results declined in a number of our non-academic subjects which impacted on our whole school ‘Progress 8’ measure.
