DISTRICT LEVEL 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS
COLMERS SCHOOL 8th March 2022
Year 7 - First Place
Year 7 competed really well as a team in the above Championships. They won 10 out of the 11 events and finished in 1st place overall.

Year 8 - First Place
Year 8 competed really well as a team in the above Championships. It was a very close competition! The team came 1st in 5 of the 11 events and were 2nd in the remaining 6 events. After 2 recounts of the final points, the team managed to finish in 1st place, with just one point. The team had to compete with 7 athletes, instead of the normal 8, so this was a great achievement.

INDOOR ATHLETICS YEAR 7 & 8
ALL BIRMINGHAM FINAL
WEDNESDAY 30th MARCH 2022
The Year 7 Indoor Athletics team are the All Birmingham Indoor Athletics Champions
There are 74 Secondary schools in Birmingham which have girls attending and all schools had the opportunity to qualify through a series of district competitions. Only the district champions for each area were competing in the final for each area.
This is an amazing achievement as both teams had athletes withdraw on the morning of the competition. Year 7 had to compete with 1 athlete missing, due to illness on the day.

Year 8 team finished 4th in the Final at Birmingham University
Year 8 had 2 athletes missing- one before the day of the competition and then another athlete was ill on the day. This meant the other athletes had to cover their events, which is often very difficult to do. All schools normally have 8 athletes.
Well done to all the Athletes that competed- amazing achievements to beat so many other schools and districts.

September 2021 saw a return to netball matches & competitions and the return of the South Birmingham District Leagues.
Year 7 & 8 Friendly Netball Matches
One full season of netball had been missed and 18 months in total. The current Year 8’s had not played in a netball league since they stated at King Edward VI Northfield. Also the new Year 7’s had not played any netball at primary school for 18 months. Therefore, the year 7 & 8’s were not entered in the league, but have been playing a series of friendly matches. Some were as a combined Year 7&8 team and some were just Year 7 on their own. There were 5 matches played, with 3 wins and 2 losses.

Year 9 District Netball League Matches & District Tournament
The team have played very well in the league this year and were unbeaten winning all 5 games.
They also performed very well in the district tournament on Tuesday 29th March 2022 at King Edward VI Five Ways school. They had won Division 2 of the District League this term and were one of only two Division 2 teams in the tournament.
In their section were three Division 1 teams. In the first game they beat King Edward VI Camp Hill, who were Division 1 champions! They also beat Lordswood, but lost narrowly to King Edward VI Five Ways. As group runners up they played in the Semi Final v Kings Norton Girls. They played well but lost a hard-fought game. Kings Norton Girls went on to win the tournament and the Year 9 team eventually finished 3rd.
Well Done to all the players

Senior team – District Netball League
This team of Year 10 and 11 girls have also played very well this season, they had some excellent results and remained unbeaten in their 5 games. They were a number of Year 9 players who had to fill in this season due to injuries and illnesses in the senior team, so well done to all those who have contributed to the successful results.

SOUTH BIRMINGHAM CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021-22
Tuesday October 19th Kings Norton Boys School
This was the first time a Cross Country event had taken place since the first lockdown. It was not a team event, but more of a trial to select a district team.
Well done to Lauren in Year 10. She won the Intermediate Girls race and as a result she was selected to compete for the District at the West Midlands County Championships. A fantastic achievement, well done.
