On Friday 20th November 9JS and 9MC took part in a STEM challenge organised by the Smallpeice Trust.
In two hours the pupils learned about the basic principles of aircraft design, created a trial design and built it from balsa wood. They also built a circuit to run a propeller from a capacitor. There was even time to make some initial test flights! The pupils learned a lot about engineering and we hope it will inspire some of them to research more into the many excellent career options in this sector.
We will be continuing a variety of STEM activity, including other groups, as the year progresses!
Well done to all involved! They demonstrated excellent team work, leadership and design skills.
